Speak with our Intake Team
PCH Treatment Center features an experienced intake team that will help evaluate a client’s psychological treatment needs and recommend an appropriate next step. Often a client, or the client’s family contacts us because they do not know what steps to take. An initial discussion with our intake team will determine whether a client is appropriate for one of our treatment programs, including the Intensive Program with Residence or Day Treatment Program. Administrative issues are disclosed, including location, descriptions of the programs, fees, and an explanation of how the admissions process works. If the client is deemed appropriate for treatment at PCH Treatment Center, and the client (and family) would like to proceed, a thorough interview is conducted. During this interview we obtain a preliminary psychological profile, which includes medical and medication history, family contacts, previous treatment history, psychological history, and current living, work and social situation. If a client is not appropriate or interested in coming to PCH Treatment Center, every effort will be made by our intake team to provide resources or refer the client to a more fitting treatment option.
PCH Treatment Center is a private pay facility that will perform courtesy insurance billing for out of network benefits. PCH has chosen to remain private pay so that we may offer the highest level of care possible. We believe treatment parameters such as type of therapy, number of therapy sessions, ancillary services and length of stay should be determined by us, not an insurance company. We believe that difficult psychological conditions cannot be addressed by the length of stays dictated by insurers. For example, insurers often will only approve 8-10 days of care at a certain level. At PCH our minimum length of stay is 4 weeks. We believe it is not efficacious to embark on treatment for less than this amount of time. We also provide clients and family members with an estimate of our recommended length of treatment around the time of admission or initial assessment. We believe the client and their family should have a realistic understanding of the treatment plan, so we can provide a successful treatment experience.
After both parties have agreed to proceed to admission, financial arrangements will be made. Payment of a deposit to hold a space ($2500.00) can be made by credit card, cashier’s check or wire transfer. The balance of payment can be made by cashier’s check or wire transfer.
PCH Treatment Center does not accept insurance, but we do provide assistance for clients and their families to seek insurance reimbursement. PCH Treatment Center has an insurance billing office and we work with independent third party billing companies to attempt to obtain verification of benefits and/or pre-authorization. Our staff will also submit billing for the client and initiate coverage for an extended stay when possible. Please note that when using the outside billing service, the client and family may incur separate fees.
PCH Treatment Center can offer guidance to the client or their family to make travel arrangements. PCH Treatment Center offers complimentary transportation from LAX to the GrandView residence house for the client. We also have recommendations for local hotels, apartments, sober living houses and other short or long term stay options.
Upon Admission, each client is shown around the facilities and oriented and introduced to staff and other clients. If they are staying in one of the Residence houses, staff will assist them in getting situated and setting up their room. If a client arrives on a weekend, unless urgent, clinical services will be arranged for the following Monday. If a client arrives during the week, services will begin on that day. First, each client is assigned a primary doctoral level therapist and a program director. A full psychological evaluation will be performed and a treatment plan will be formulated. Clients also receive a Client Handbook and schedule. During the first week, a psychiatric evaluation is also conducted, with a thorough evaluation and modification of the client’s current medication regimen, when appropriate.
