Dual Integrative Recovery Program

PCH Treatment Center offers a Dual Integrative Recovery Program specifically designed for Clients with Dual Diagnosis – substance abuse co-occurring with mental health or psychological issues. The program is appropriate for persons struggling concurrently with drug, alcohol or prescription medication abuse in conjunction with psychological issues, which are negatively impacting their ability to function properly both personally and professionally. PCH Treatment Center offers a high-quality clinical program in an outpatient setting four afternoons a week, Monday through Thursday from 1-4 p.m. In this immersive afternoon, we use our expertise in psychological treatment to address the psychological basis of addiction. We provide insight into how substance abuse and psychological problems interrelate and help Clients separate out psychological issues they may not be aware of which are compromising their ability to stay sober.

The goal of the Dual Integrative Recovery Program is for Clients to begin developing an empathic understanding of how their self-medicating behaviors prevent them from managing the difficult feeling states associated with such mental health issues as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, attention-deficit disorder, psychosis, personality disorders, self-injury, and psychological trauma. At the same time, Clients will also begin learning how other behaviors – sex, gambling, shopping, eating, internet use, etc. – can also develop into self-medicating behaviors that, when left unexamined, can become as destructive as drug and alcohol abuse.

Candidates for this program include those enrolled in or recently completing a Residential Treatment program, Sober Living residents, students, and working professionals who are at risk of damaging their lives due to their drug and alcohol abuse. The Dual Integrative Recovery Program is designed to work with Clients who are going through recovery on their own or in other facilities who want a more profound treatment approach then traditional recovery methods. Our unique treatment program includes a combination of cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic/process-oriented group therapies addressing grief and loss, co-dependency, life-skills, relationship difficulties, relapse and emotional pathways. Because PCH is addressing both the substance abuse and the mental health issues, it is understood that recovery is an ongoing process that may include relapse. Clients will be encouraged to utilize a 12-Step Program while in treatment for additional support, but this is not a requirement, and PCH will create individual treatment plans in conjunction with the Clients’ individual therapist as appropriate.

The Dual Integrative Recovery Program benefits from the expertise PCH Treatment Center has developed with its immersive treatment programs to restore mental health. PCH Treatment Center Psychiatrists and Psychotherapists treat Clients with profound psychological issues as outpatients, in treatment clinics and hospitals. Furthermore, PCH Treatment Center has a large staff of expert clinicians and holistic health practitioners to provide support and treatment to Clients suffering from Dual Diagnoses.
