Family Program
When a Client is undergoing treatment at PCH Treatment Center, it may prove beneficial to involve the Client’s family or significant other in therapy. The PCH Family Program is designed to incorporate family members into group and family therapy sessions. This program is appropriate when the Client resides with their family or significant other or interacts with them in close proximity. Oftentimes, family members do not know how to properly deal with an individual with a psychological problem, or they are acting in a counterproductive manner. The PCH Family Program addresses the dysfunctional interpersonal relationships from both sides, giving the family and Client tools and coping skills. Oftentimes, upon arrival, family members or significant others will be exhausted, having lost their composure and resiliency. This is a time for PCH Psychologists and staff to restructure the family relationships to improve the quality of life for all parties involved.
The PCH Family Program is conducted over the weekends, from Friday evening through Sunday afternoon. Individual sessions with the Client and his family or significant other are the cornerstone, supplemented by group therapy sessions involving other families. Other resources are also offered and an individualized plan will be developed to maximize the success of treatment. Families can enroll for a single weekend, or multiple weekends, as is suitable.
