Is PCH Right for You?
While we specialize in treating complex mental health issues like OCD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, PTSD, and more, we focus on what happened to you, rather than what’s “wrong” with you. PCH offers the highest quality of clinical care available. However, our program isn’t necessarily the best fit for each individual struggling with psychological issues. Here are some factors to consider before taking the next step and reaching out to PCH for help.
Our Program May Be Right for You If:
You Can Privately Fund Treatment
PCH follows a private pay model. This is by design so that we can offer the best clinical care free of constraints placed by insurance providers and outside administrators. PCH requires payment for treatment up front; we have an out-of-network insurance billing system, but it requires that our clients wait for insurance reimbursement later on (when applicable).
PCH believes that each client heals at their own pace, and we do not want treatment timelines, length of stay, or clinical care to be determined by insurance panels. If you do have insurance with out of network benefits, PCH will work with you to navigate the insurance reimbursement process following treatment. We do not guarantee reimbursement, but we do everything we can to make our program as affordable as possible.
Your Primary Issue Is Tied to One of Our Core Treatment Programs
At PCH, we understand that every individual is unique, and our approach is flexible to accommodate a diverse range of needs and situations when the core issues are tied to:
- Emotional Dysregulation
- Psychological Trauma
- OCD
- Chronic Anxiety
- Depression
- Bipolar and mood disorders
- PTSD
- Psychotic States
- Borderline States
- Dissociative Conditions
- Dual Diagnosis
You’re 18+ Years of Age
We specialize in treating adults. Our clients must be a minimum of 18 years or older to be admitted into our program. There is no upper age limit.
If you answered yes to all three of the above criteria, reach out to the team at PCH to take the next steps.
PCH Isn’t the Best Choice If:
You’re Relying on Insurance To Fund Treatment
While PCH works with insurance companies on an out-of-network basis for reimbursement following treatment, we require payment up front to initiate treatment. This is to ensure that insurance panels do not dictate treatment timelines, length of stay, or clinical care. If you must fund treatment with insurance only and especially if your insurance plan does not have out-of- network benefits, PCH isn’t the best fit.
PCH is also not able to achieve reimbursement by state and federal insurance programs including but not limited to Medicare, Medical, Medicaid, Tricare, etc.
You’re an Adolescent
Our clinicians focus on treating adults and our treatment milieu and living spaces are for adults, so clients must be 18 years or older to be admitted into our program.
Your Primary Issue Is Addiction
While we treat addiction, we are not an addiction treatment center. PCH will not admit someone who is actively using certain substances (alcohol, narcotics, non-prescription drugs, etc.) and may introduce those substances into our treatment milieu. Each client will need to be assessed to determine the amount and type of substances being used and the best pathway to achieve abstinence. Options include admission to our program (if clinically appropriate), referral to a primary addiction treatment facility, referral to a detox program, and then a return to PCH after abstinence is attained.
One important exception here: PCH treats many clients with primary addiction who have failed conventional addiction programs. These programs did not deal with underlying psychological issues or trauma at the root of the addiction. PCH does specialize in working with clients who have or are struggling with addiction who are self-medicating to treat deeper psychological issues.
Your Primary Issue Is an Eating or Developmental Disorder
While we treat disordered eating and developmental issues to the extent that they overlap with other psychological issues, we do not treat primary eating disorders, especially when there are metabolic issues, severe low weight, anorexia or bulimia.
If any of the above describes you, PCH probably isn’t the right choice for your needs.
