
Adriana Westby-Trent, PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist who works in both clinical and
academic settings. She has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and
families who have been negatively impacted by traumatic events. Dr. Trent is nationally certified
in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and she has expertise working alongside
clients struggling with both addictive and obsessive-compulsive tendencies (OCD).
She is an adjunct faculty member at Pacific Oaks College in the Marriage and Family Therapy
program and teaches graduate-level courses including Counseling and Communication Skills;
Trauma, Attachment, and Culture; African American Child and Family Psychology; Practicum;
and Evidenced Based Practices.
Dr. Trent earned her BA in Clinical Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles,
her MA in Clinical Psychology summa cum laude from California State University, Northridge,
and her PhD summa sum laude in Clinical Child Psychology from the Reiss Davis Graduate
Center for Child Development and Psychotherapy. She joined the PCH family as a Program
Director in March of 2014 and has been serving as Clinical Director since May 2016.
