Adriana Westby-Trent, PhD

Dr. Adriana Westby-Trent received her B.A. in Clinical Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles; her M.A. in Clinical Psychology (Summa Cum Laude) from California State University, Northridge; and her Ph.D. (Summa Cum Laude) in Clinical Child Psychology from the Reiss Davis Graduate Center for Child Development and Psychotherapy. Dr. Westby-Trent has an extensive history working with children, adolescents, adults, and families who have experienced negative life events/trauma. She also has experience in clinical supervision of undergraduate/graduate interns and unlicensed staff in community mental health and private practice settings. She is an adjunct faculty in the Marriage and Family Therapy program at Pacific Oaks College, where she teaches graduate level courses in Counseling and Communication Skills; Trauma, Attachment, and Culture; African American Child and Family; Practicum; and Evidenced Based Practice. Dr. Westby-Trent is nationally certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Seeking Safety, and Managing and Adapting Practice. Dr. Westby-Trent joined the PCH family as a program director in March of 2014 and has worked closely with Dr. Flavio Marenco in the OCD and Anxiety Clinic at PCH. Dr. Westby-Trent’s professional areas of interests and expertise are trauma, addiction, and obsessive- compulsive disorder (OCD).
