Dave was born and raised in Los Angeles, where he quickly developed a love for gardening. This stayed with him throughout every job he had and eventually became an important and effective form of therapy, which he began using at Hillsides home for Children in Pasadena where he has been working for the past 13 years. He piloted the very first gardening therapy program of its kind in collaboration with the Armory center for the Arts’ Farmory program.
Dave continues to reside in Los Angeles with his wife and 3 children. He is currently a student in the College of Agriculture at Cal Poly Pomona, and is a former student at Pasadena City College and Cal State Los Angeles. Along with working in Foster Care, Dave owns and operates Los Angeles Cactus where he removes and replants cactus in an effort to encourage xeroscaping. He looks forward to exploring all therapeutic benefits gardening has to offer.
