Helen Yee, PhD

Dr. Helen Yee received her undergraduate degree in psychology from the State University of New York at Albany. After obtaining a Masters of Social Work and a Masters of Public Administration degree at the University of Denver, Dr. Yee completed a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology. She completed an APA approved internship at St. John’s Child Study Center in Santa Monica, where she treated children and adolescents with emotional disorders.
Dr. Yee served as the mental health supervisor of a county inpatient psychiatric unit, before working at Las Encinas Hospital in Pasadena. She has extensive experience in both in and out-patient work and has maintained a private practice for over three decades, where she has specialized in early childhood trauma, mood disorders and issues of multicultural diversity. She conducted a survivors of incest group for over 20 years.
Due to her commitment to community mental health and her belief in assisting underserved populations, Dr. Yee serves on the Board of the Rose City Center, a nonprofit mental health clinic dedicated to providing low fee psychoanalytic psychotherapy. She also serves as the Chair of the Training Committee for Rose City Center.
