Having worked in a variety of creative settings internationally, Honey decided to transition into a new stage of life and undertook a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Person-centered Therapy at Middlesex University, London.
As a humanistic therapist, she focused her work in community mental health agencies specializing in dual diagnoses, domestic violence and bereavement, along with a small private practice.
Honey moved to Los Angeles in August 2014 in order to pursue a Master of Social Work at California State University, Northridge (graduated with Distinction May 2016, recipient of Jean E. Daniels Award in Leadership and Academic Achievement), during which time she undertook award winning research and presented on topics related to adverse experiences for Transition Age Youth and California Child Care Policy impact on child development. As Program Director at therapeutic residential programs for TAY and sub-acute foster care Honey created trauma focused program curricula whilst continuing post degree training in Seeking Safety, EMDR, DBT and Trauma Focused CBT amongst others. She holds a firm belief in the actualizing tendency theory that individuals strive for optimal development even in the most adverse circumstances.
Honey uses strength based practice to individualize client treatment utilizing evidence based modalities and a trauma focused lens.
