Jeanne Ortiz has worked at PCH for the last four years as the lead yoga teacher at the center, as well as the residences. Jeanne teaches a style of therapeutic yoga that has an emphasis on trauma, in addition to teaching Meditation and Mindfulness, and Mindful walking classes. Jeanne has also employed by The Department of Veteran Affairs for the past three years and is the lead yoga teacher for all three sites in Greater Los Angeles. She assists several VA doctors during the group acupuncture sessions about three days per week, supporting the patients performing the Healing Touch modalities to help clients relax and restore during their sessions. The VA has provided Jeanne with the training for Healing Touch and will be continuing her training in levels 2 and 3. Several times per month, Jeanne gives talks to different clinics, such as the diabetes, pain, and nutrition clinics where she speaks about the benefits of yoga, meditation, and mindfulness for staff and veterans. Jeanne has been trained through the Loyola Marymount yoga therapy programs in levels 1-3, as well as additional yoga therapy training at the Sivananda Center in the Bahamas and the Veteran’s Affairs in Trauma yoga.
