Dr. Julie M. Hall is Board Certified in Adult Psychiatry and Neurology and Board Eligible in Adolescent and Child Psychiatry. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Harvard University, magna cum laude in Biological Sciences and her medical degree at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). Dr. Hall trained in both adult, child and adolescent psychiatry at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute.
Dr. Hall has extensive research experience, completing research fellowships at Harvard Medical School, UCSF, the National Institutes of Health (NIMH), and UCLA. In particular, Dr. Hall has investigated how social cognition impairments exacerbate the presentation of psychiatric conditions such as borderline personality disorder and bipolar disorder. She also has extensive training in psychotherapy and medication management of patients with borderline personality disorder with comorbid psychiatric conditions.
Dr. Hall has broad clinical experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She has worked as the attending physician for adult inpatient units and directed outpatient clinics in the Los Angeles area. Currently, Dr. Hall maintains a successful private practice in adult, child, and adolescent psychiatry in West Los Angeles. Her combined training in both psychotherapy and medication management ensures an integrated approach of both understanding the dynamics of one’s individual situation and combining appropriate medication management when necessary.
