Dr. Kenneth Skale is a licensed psychologist in the State of California. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from San Diego State University in Psychology and Religious Studies and both his Masters and Doctoral Degrees in Clinical Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Skale completed his pre-doctoral internship at Canyon Ridge Psychiatric hospital followed by a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at Rose City Center in Pasadena, where he received in-depth training and supervision providing long-term psychoanalytic psychotherapy. In addition to collaborating with PCH Treatment Center, Dr. Skale maintains a private practice in Pasadena, CA.
Dr. Skale works primarily from a psychodynamic perspective, an approach that emphasizes trust, working in the here-and-now, and developing a deep and compassionate understanding of oneself. He also integrates other therapeutic approaches into treatment where indicated, including mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, dialectical-behavior therapy, and interpersonal techniques. Although a generalist by training, Dr. Skale has developed specialties in the treatment of addiction and personality disorders. He has extensive experience working with dual-diagnosis populations to help clients understand and accept themselves fully, improve symptoms of anxiety and depression, resolve the residue of past traumatic experiences, and build fulfilling relationships.
