Michelle LoFurno, PsyD
Dr. Michelle LoFurno is a licensed clinical psychologist who approaches psychological assessment with passion and enthusiasm. As the Director of PCH Assessment Center, Dr. LoFurno conducts and supervises neuropsychological and psychological evaluations for clients in treatment at PCH Center, as well as within the community. She has a collaborative and therapeutic approach to assessment, with a focus on emphasizing client strengths and enhancing meaningful outcomes.
For over a decade, Dr. LoFurno has obtained specialization in psychological assessment across a myriad of clinical environments, including outpatient community mental health, residential treatment centers, and inpatient psychiatric facilities, as well as court and school-based settings. Dr. LoFurno possesses expertise in conducting comprehensive evaluations of complex presentations for youth and adults manifesting a range of clinical and neurocognitive challenges, with a focus on guiding treatment and interventions.
Dr. LoFurno obtained her undergraduate degree in psychology from Niagara University in New York. She pursued her graduate training in West Hartford, Connecticut, at the University of Hartford’s Graduate Institute of Professional Psychology, where she obtained her doctoral degree in clinical psychology. Soon after completing her training, Dr. LoFurno became the Director of Psychological Services at a psychiatric hospital, where she conducted diagnostic evaluations for clients with complex mental health presentations. She additionally provided psychoeducational assessments for children and adolescents in clinical day schools with mental health needs and learning differences, as well as multidisciplinary evaluations for court-involved youth. Outside of her clinical work, she has been engaged in academia through teaching and supervisory roles in graduate-level programs.
