Monica Blauner is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Psychoanalyst with over thirty years experience in mental health and addictions treatment at all levels of care. Monica holds a Certificate in Psychoanalysis from The New York Freudian Society Psychoanalytic Training Institute, is a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist and obtained her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Smith College School for Social Work. She served as Program Director of the Sexual Recovery Institute and worked in Cedars-Sinai’s Department of Psychiatry.
Monica’s analytic training informs all her work with clients, focusing on building a positive therapeutic relationship through empathy and understanding. She also uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Trauma Resilience techniques in her work.
Monica has extensive experience teaching, most recently at UCLA’s School of Social Welfare, where she has taught several clinical courses, including Substance Abuse Intervention.
She maintains a private psychotherapy practice in Los Angeles.
