Dr. Virdee is a clinical psychologist with over a decade of experience working with adolescents, teens, adults, and families and specializes in trauma, mood disorder and psychosis. In 2005, she earned an M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of San Francisco. At USF, Dr. Virdee specialized in treatment for dual diagnosis adolescents within an inpatient setting and also worked with immigrant women who were victims of domestic violence. Soon after she graduated, she moved to Los Angeles to complete her doctorate with an emphasis in forensic studies. While completing her doctorate, she helped to develop and create a teen program for inner city youth in East Los Angeles, providing culturally sensitive individualized intensive therapy and specialized psycho-education for the teens and their families. Soon after Dr. Virdee completed a series of training and curriculum to help educate clinicians and social workers in teen and family violence. Dr. Virdee has worked with at-risk youth at the Youth & Family Resource Center, and provided individual, group sessions and psychological assessment for dual diagnosis adolescents and their families. Dr. Virdee currently specializes in mood disorders, and trauma with teens and adults in private practice and specializes with psychosis in psychiatric hospitals. Lastly, Dr. Virdee is clinical advisor for the Saving Lives Coalition (501c3) and presents and speaks on topics ranging from addiction, trauma and mental health issues.
