At PCH, we prefer to put names and faces to the philosophy guiding our approach whenever possible. To better accomplish that, we will begin sharing the firsthand perspectives of the people behind our treatment programs with monthly staff interviews.
We started this month by asking Jullian Lee, Director of Client Operations, five questions about his guiding philosophy and principles.
1. What’s your favorite mental health or well being quote?
The thought manifests the word;
The word manifests the deed;
The deed develops into habit;
And habit hardens into character;
So watch the thought and its ways with care,
And let them spring forth from love
Born out of compassion for all beings.
As the shadow follows the body, as we think, so we become.
2. What do you do to take care of your own mental health needs?
I stay active (Walk, hike, and surf). Anything outdoors and away from phones/society. Although I appreciate an urban hike on occasion.
3. What inspires you most at PCH?
The Operations Staff and their genuine desire to help others (PCH clients, fellow staff members, the community). They have an insatiable need to help the world despite all their own hardships.
4. What’s your superpower?
Overthinking.
5. If you can invite anyone alive or no longer living to your dinner party, who would you invite and why?
Marley, Prince, Cobain,& Zendaya.
