Integrative and Inclusive Treatment Approaches

We understand that an individual's path to healing and a meaningful life is distinct, shaped by their unique experiences and how these have impacted their nervous system. Our interventions reflect this diversity, offering a wide range of approaches to meet the specific needs of each person we care for. The approaches used at PCH to support therapeutic change are holistic and inclusive and target the mind, body, and heart, with the objectives to educate, equip, and empower our clients.

Family Program

The PCH Family Program is dedicated to addressing and improving challenging interpersonal dynamics within families and couples. Our team of skilled psychologists and staff focuses on enhancing communication and coping skills for all family members. We work collaboratively to restructure family relationships, aiming to elevate the quality of life for everyone involved.

Our family therapists bring a wealth of experience in both therapeutic healing and in imparting practical tools to families. These tools are designed to improve family dynamics, optimize communication, and promote long-term relational success. Additionally, our program equips families with strategies to address and manage issues proactively, preventing them from escalating. Through the PCH Family Program, families gain invaluable skills and insights, fostering healthier, more supportive, and fulfilling relationships.

This program is designed for families with a loved one confronting psychological challenges. We strongly encourage PCH clients, including alumni or those from other treatment programs, psychiatric hospitals, or drug and alcohol treatment facilities, to participate in this program with their families, ideally within the first month of treatment. This weekend experience allows families to engage deeply with the treatment process, fostering understanding and support in a focused, nurturing environment.

The Family Program includes:

Ongoing Family Therapy Sessions

Conjoint and separate therapy sessions and psycho-education are arranged weekly around the family’s and Client’s schedules.

Teleconference Family Sessions

Therapy sessions for families who live remotely or have logistical issues precluding them from coming to the PCH campus.

Transitional Living

In our Transitional Living program at PCH Center, we emphasize a personalized approach to step-down care. Recognizing the unique backgrounds and future aspirations of our clients, this program is crafted for those ready to move forward from our supportive housing, offering them increased autonomy within a structured and nurturing environment.

Embracing Life’s Goals and Values

Guided by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, our focus is on helping clients identify their personal goals and values, equipping them with the skills to pursue a life aligned with these aspirations. This phase of the journey allows clients to gradually reintegrate into their regular lives, whether that involves returning to education, work, or engaging in volunteer activities. It’s about reconnecting with what matters most to them – from family and hobbies to career goals and personal well-being.

Supportive Transition Back to Daily Life

As clients prepare to transition out of our program, we collaborate closely to develop a comprehensive discharge plan, integrating effective treatment modalities like dialectical therapy, family therapy, and more. Our aim is to support our clients in returning to a fulfilling life, filled with the joys of family, work, and leisure, while confidently managing the challenges of anxiety or depression. At PCH, we're more than just caregivers; we're partners in your journey to living a valued and rewarding life.

After Care

At PCH Treatment Center, we recognize the crucial role of aftercare in the success of any treatment plan. To facilitate the smoothest possible transition from intensive residential or day treatment, we offer comprehensive After Care services, both with and without Transitional Living options.

The After Care program is designed to support clients in adapting to daily life after their treatment. It focuses on essential life skills and coping strategies, ensuring a smooth transition back into everyday routines. Clients receive assistance in financial planning and management, fostering the ability to maintain a stable budget. Time management training is also provided, enabling effective organization of daily and weekly schedules. This holistic approach extends to practical skills like navigating public transportation, enhancing personal organization, and meal planning, encompassing everything from shopping to cooking.

The program also emphasizes personal development and community integration. Clients are prepared for re-entry into the workforce with employment preparation training, and they are connected with volunteer opportunities to enhance community engagement. Social skills development is a key component, ensuring clients can build and maintain healthy relationships. For those facing specific challenges such as anxiety, the program offers specialized support techniques. Additionally, traveling and sober companionship services are available for clients needing extra support during critical moments, thereby maintaining and building upon the progress achieved during treatment.
