Join us for an engaging CE presentation exploring the evolving intersection of artificial intelligence and mental health. Dr. Timothy Pylko will examine the rapid development of AI, its clinical and psychological implications, emerging ethical concerns, and the future of responsible AI in mental health care.

1. Review current models of artificial intelligence through the development of Large Language Models

2. Discuss the emergence of how AI can have adverse effects on mental health including AI induced psychosis, AI encouragement  for suicide and violence toward others, and to a lesser extent the risk of “de-skilling” by over reliance on AI agents to do cognitive work.

3. Understand Semantic Pareidolia in the context of the perception that AI Chatbots are conscious and sentient beings. Review the strong argument that intelligence is not in and of itself consciousness. Intelligence can simulate behavior that can appear conscious. Theories of consciousness.

4. Review the role “for profit” AI companies owned by billionaires have in “attachment hacking” and its potentially dangerous effect on psychologically vulnerable individuals.

5. The stand against the potential catastrophic risks of AI: The Pro-Human AI Declaration, the Maginifica Humanitus and other voices calling for regulating run away AI development.
